The UK Semiconductor Advisory Panel was established by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) to provide a formal conduit for industry, academia and government to work closely together to deliver on the government’s strategic aims for the semiconductor sector. These aims include growing the UK semiconductor sector, safeguarding the UK against supply chain disruption, and protecting the UK against the security risks arising from semiconductor technologies.
The panel is co-chaired by the Minister for Science, Research and Innovation, Lord Patrick Vallance, and respected UK semiconductor industry veteran Dr Jalal Bagherli. It includes 9 members in addition to the co-chairs, comprising representatives from business and technology across the UK’s semiconductor strengths, as well as experts in venture capital, skills and research.
