Ever wondered what it takes to keep the Red Arrows flying high?聽

Here鈥檚 your chance to find out! The British High Commission, in partnership with , the and the is聽looking for one young person to become an #EngineerForADay.

The 鈥淓ngineer for a Day鈥� competition is an exciting opportunity for young people living in Canada. One lucky winner will travel to Nova Scotia this August to spend a weekend with the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, better known as the Red Arrows. If you鈥檙e 13-18 years of age聽and a聽Canadian resident,聽we want to hear from you!

The experience:

After being flown with two parents or guardians to Nova Scotia, you鈥檒l spend your first day with the Red Arrows, one of the world鈥檚 premier aerobatic display teams, learning what it takes to maintain their Hawk T1 aircraft. Wearing one of 鈥淭he Blues鈥欌�� iconic flying suits, you will look the part while working with the pilots and engineers to get the planes ready for their display. You will help to plan the flights, brief the crew, service the planes, and possibly even taxi them to the runway!

The next day, we鈥檒l provide you and your parents/guardians with tickets to attend , where you鈥檒l watch more displays and meet exhibitors. We鈥檒l cover the cost of your flights and accommodations!

All you need to do is submit a 500-word answer, or a 1:30 minute video, telling us in English or French your response to the following question:

鈥淚f you were in charge of a team to solve one engineering challenge in the world, what would you fix and why?鈥�

You鈥檒l need to be 13-18 years old during the experience, be a resident of Canada, and be free to travel to Nova Scotia from 23-26 August.

(While submissions will accepted in either of Canada鈥檚 official languages, applicants should note the full slate of Engineer for a Day activities in Nova Scotia will be conducted in English.)

Apr猫s avoir voyag茅 avec deux parents ou tuteurs jusqu鈥檈n Nouvelle-脡cosse, vous passerez votre premi猫re journ茅e avec les Red Arrows et apprendrez 脿 entretenir leurs avions Hawk T1. En portant l鈥檜ne des combinaisons de vol embl茅matiques de 芦 The Blues 禄, vous aurez fi猫re allure tout en travaillant avec les pilotes et les ing茅nieurs 脿 pr茅parer les avions pour leur exposition. Vous aiderez 脿 planifier les vols, 脿 breffer l鈥櫭﹒uipage, 脿 entretenir les avions et peut-锚tre m锚me 脿 les amener sur la piste!

Le lendemain, vos parents/tuteurs et vous recevrez des billets pour assister au o霉 vous pourrez voir d鈥檃utres expositions et rencontrer les exposants. Nous couvrirons les frais de transport et d鈥檋茅bergement.
