Biography
Josh Simons was appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Cabinet Office on 7 September 2025. He was elected as the MP for Makerfield in July 2024.
Josh Simons is acting as maternity cover for Satvir Kaur MP, who is currently on maternity leave.
Parliamentary Secretary
The Parliamentary Secretary is responsible for supporting the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister and the Minister for the Cabinet Office on coordination and delivery of cross-government priorities.
In particular, the Minister鈥檚 responsibilities are to support the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister and the Minister for the Cabinet Office on:
- Inquiries policy
- Infected blood compensation delivery
- Public service reform
- Counter-fraud
- UK Statistical Authority sponsorship
