Laura Catterick
Biography
Laura Catterick was appointed Non-Executive Director to the VMD in June 2025 and also as Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.
Laura is a Chartered Professional Accountant with extensive experience in financial oversight, risk management, governance, and large-scale transformation.
She has held senior executive roles within highly regulated sectors, including roles across all three lines of defence within Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Lloyds Banking Group, and Mastercard. Laura has worked closely with boards and governance committees, providing strategic insight on risk, regulatory compliance, cyber security and operational resilience.
Her background includes leading multi-year, high-value transformation portfolios and championing diversity and inclusion through career advancement initiatives for women.
Alongside the VMD role, Laura currently has an executive role as Resilience & Cyber Director at UK Finance, representing the financial services sector and working closely with industry leaders, government, and regulators, influencing policy on operational resilience and cybersecurity at a national level.
Non-Executive Director, VMD
The VMD Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC), is a sub-committee of the VMD Management Board (MB). The ARAC supports the Chief Executive as Accounting Officer and the MB in monitoring the corporate governance and control systems in the organisation. It will advise on internal and external audit matters, risk, control and governance in the organisation. The ARAC鈥檚 scope and responsibilities include risk management, internal control, governance, financial reporting and internal and external audit.
