This report from the Commissioner for Children鈥檚 Services in West Sussex sets out the progress made on service improvement.
It recommends that conditions at the council are supporting the continued improvement of children鈥檚 services and confirms that the work to set up a company to provide children鈥檚 services company can cease.
The Department for Education issued a revised statutory direction to West Sussex County Council on 31 March 2022.
This report is the third by the current commissioner. Previous reports were issued in December 2019 and December 2020, following a report by Ofsted that judged the overall effectiveness of the council鈥檚 children鈥檚 social care services to be inadequate.
