The following fees are currently payable for cases filed under part 52 of the Civil Procedure Rules.

1. Appeal fee

If you need to ask for permission to appeal, or for more time to appeal, you鈥檒l need to pay a fee of 拢646 when you send either your:

• appellant鈥檚 notice
• respondent鈥檚 notice, if you鈥檙e appealing as the respondent

If you do not need to ask for permission to appeal, or the lower court has already given you permission, you鈥檒l need to pay a fee of 拢1,466 when you send your notice.

2. Respondent鈥檚 notice

If you鈥檙e responding to an appeal, you鈥檒l have to pay a fee of 拢587 if you want to uphold the order for different or additional reasons to those given by the lower court.

3. Appeal questionnaire

If you asked for permission to appeal, and permission was granted, you鈥檒l need to complete an appeal questionnaire and pay the full appeal fee of 拢1,466.

If you did not need to ask for permission to appeal and you paid the full appeal fee when you sent your notice, you do not need to pay this fee.

4. Application notice

If you need to complete an application notice during your case, you鈥檒l need to pay a fee of 拢646.

5. How to pay

You must pay the fee before the deadline given to you by the court.

You can either pay:

• by telephone
• in person
• by post
• online

6. Get help with the fee

You may be able to聽get help with fees聽if you:

• receive benefits
• cannot claim legal aid
• can show severe financial hardship
