This direction has closed and a direction issued by the Department for Education (DfE) on 7 January 2020 replaces it.
This direction requires the council to take steps to improve its children鈥檚 social care services, including co-operating with the DfE-appointed Children鈥檚 Services Commissioner, Eleanor Brazil.
It follows a that judged the overall effectiveness of the council鈥檚 children鈥檚 social care services to be inadequate.
