This direction has closed and a direction issued by the Department for Education (DfE) on 17 December 2019 replaces it.
This direction requires the council to take steps to improve its children鈥檚 social care services, including cooperating with the DfE-appointed Children鈥檚 Services Commissioner, John Coughlan.
It follows a that judged the overall effectiveness of the council鈥檚 children鈥檚 social care services to be inadequate.
