Anti-slavery Risk Tiering Tool (ARTT) Guidance

A cross-departmental team of volunteers has successfully updated the widely used Home Office Modern Slavery Risk Assessment Tool.
This has brought together expertise from UK Parliament, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, Department for Transport and Integrated Corporate Services - Commercial, working closely with the Home Office, Cabinet Office and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.聽
This refreshed tool, now called the , is now fully aligned with PPN 009 Tackling modern slavery in government supply chains and associated guidance, and reflects the latest risks and requirements, including those introduced by the Procurement Act 2023.

- Integrated Risk Intelligence: Consolidates risk data previously dispersed across the PPN and external datasets. Includes categorised risks (e.g. commodities), the US List of Goods Produced by Child Labor or Forced Labor, and GLAA Industry Profiles.

- One-Stop Shop: A simple, intuitive tool that provides clear next steps and links to relevant resources.

While optional, the tool is ready to use immediately and is a practical way to support compliance with PPN 009. It supports efficiency and enables faster, more consistent assessments and helps embed modern slavery risk management into everyday procurement practices.
Note: This tool is different to and separate from the聽.聽The MSAT is a modern slavery risk identification and management tool. This tool has been designed to help public sector organisations work in partnership with suppliers to improve protections and reduce the risk of exploitation of workers in their supply chains. It also aims to help public sector organisations understand where there may be risks of modern slavery in the supply chains of goods and services they have procured. Public sector organisations are encouraged to use the MSAT with existing suppliers.
