This direction has now closed. A revised direction issued in May 2021 replaces it.
This direction requires the council to continue to take steps to improve its children鈥檚 social care services, including co-operating with the DfE-appointed Children鈥檚 Services Commissioner Eleanor Brazil OBE.
It follows a that judged the overall effectiveness of the council鈥檚 children鈥檚 social care services to be inadequate.
This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to the council in March 2020.
