This direction requires the council to take steps to improve the exercise of its children鈥檚 social care functions, including updates to the Commissioner terms of reference and Strategic partnership arrangements.
These include the requirement to:
- engage with the Non-Executive Children鈥檚 Services Commissioner
- comply with the recommendations set out in the聽report from the Commissioner for Children鈥檚 Services in Tameside
This direction replaces the earlier聽statutory direction issued to Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council in September 2024.
