This guidance will help operators understand and comply with their obligations under the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) which came into force on 1 January 2021. These obligations are set out in .

This guidance applies to installations in the UK ETS with greenhouse gas emissions (GHGE) permits. There is separate guidance for hospital or small emitters (HSEs).
