2. For the purposes of item 4 an insurance broker or insurance agent is acting 鈥渋n an intermediary capacity鈥 wherever he is acting as an intermediary, or one of the intermediaries, between -
- a person who provides insurance or reinsurance and
- a person who is or may be seeking insurance or reinsurance or is an insured person.
This note defines what is meant by acting in an intermediary capacity in item 4(b) - see VATINS1240 鈥業nsurer鈥 covers a person providing insurance or reinsurance and 鈥榠nsured鈥 is a person who is insured or is seeking insurance. VATINS5220 refers.
